Urban Farm Volunteering
Join us for an afternoon of volunteering at the Farm at Walker Jones Elementary School. This urban farm brings fresh fruit and vegetables right to the neighborhood, serving as an outdoor classroom for students and raising over 3,000 pounds of food for local residents and for DC Central Kitchen.
This event is co-ed and kid-friendly, so bring your friends and family!
Volunteers can help out in a number of different ways, including weeding, harvesting and painting, depending on the season and whatever the farm needs! Come prepared to get dirty and wear comfortable clothes that you can wash. Gardening gloves, hats, and tools will be provided.
A FREE lunch will be donated. (Note: vegetarian options are available, vegan options are available, though not guaranteed). Bring your own water bottle!
