Signature Events

EcoHours

DC EcoWomen hosts a speaker series each month where a successful woman in the environmental field discusses her job and offers career advice. EcoHours usually take place from
6-8 pm once a month at Teaism Penn Quarter in Washington, DC (except for August and December). Though we hold several co-ed events throughout the year, please note that EcoHours are only open to women, including members of the LGBTQ community and gender fluid individuals.

Mentor Dinners

DC EcoWomen is interested in supporting mentorship opportunities through which our members can form lasting relationships with influential women in the environmental field who they can get advice and guidance from for advancing their careers. These women are selected based on their professional accomplishments and alignment with our organization and mission. Many of our mentors have also spoken at EcoHours. Mentor Dinners are small, typically 6-8 women sitting down to dinner together with one experienced mentor.  These dinners provide a unique opportunity to have access to an experienced women in the environmental field in an intimate setting.

Ongoing Events

Eco-Outings

As women who are passionate about the environment and outdoors, we are working to create a community of people who spend time playing outside together. Past Eco-outings have included hiking, working on urban farms, visiting sustainable wineries, potlucking in parks, and more. We are always looking for more ideas that will get us outside to learn, appreciate, or enjoy the nature just outside our doorsteps.

Workshops

DC EcoWomen offers ongoing professional development workshops focused on helping women develop the skills to succeed in the workplace. Past workshop topics include: The Art of Salary Negotiation, The Dos and Don’ts of Interviewing, Resume Writing, and Public Speaking.
