Roshani Kothari

Roshani Kothari is a digital strategist, influencer and connector with extensive experience working with nonprofits and technology companies that focus on nonprofits. She is passionate about using technology for social change. She has helped companies and organizations create and implement effective advocacy, communications, fundraising, community, and technology strategies. She has traveled extensively in Africa, Asia and Latin America. She worked as a Peace Corps Intern in Thailand and a Catholic Relief Services Fellow in El Salvador, and studied abroad in Bolivia. She has a MA in International Development from George Washington University and a BA in International Studies and Communications from Trinity University in San Antonio. She received a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship, which she applied to a Grassroots Development and NGO Management certificate program in Zimbabwe through the School for International Training. In addition to her technology and international experience, she is passionate about environmental issues, gardening and cooking. She is also an avid photographer who has done photo exhibits on Bolivia, Cuba, El Salvador, Israel, South Africa, Washington, DC, Zanzibar and more. She is a recipient of the DC Commission for Arts and Humanities Small Projects grant. Her work was included in the Our City, Ourselves: Women Photograph Washington exhibit in 2021. Tricia Boccard​
Tricia Boccard is a project manager passionate about the environment, climate action, and social justice. Tricia has experience in international disaster response and emergency management. Tricia recently completed her Master of Public Management, specializing in Environmental Policy, at the University of Maryland, and she has a bachelor’s in Diplomacy & International Relations from Seton Hall University. Jasmine Xie​
Jasmine Xie is an energy policy professional passionate about creating a sustainable built environment. She works at the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) as a Senior Program Manager, where she advises states on deploying high-impact building energy technologies, enabling energy improvements in existing buildings, and achieving equitable rural energy development. In past roles, she has worked closely with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR program. A lifelong Mid-Atlantic resident, she grew up in New Jersey and holds a BA in Economics and Environmental Studies from Swarthmore College. Becky Band Jain

Becky Band Jain is a communications strategist and writer with two decades of experience at organizations like USAID, the UN, and numerous nonprofits. A long-time climate and environmental advocate, she is a recent Climate Fellow with Terra.do and actively engages with local sustainability advocacy efforts through Wild Ones and the local PTA. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from the New School, an MSc in Gender, Development, and Globalization from the London School of Economics, and a BA from Wesleyan University. She lives in Maryland with her husband, daughter, hundreds of native plants that she’s adding to her garden, and dozens of indoor plants. Ambika Chawla
Communications
Ambika is a cities and climate change professional with experience collaborating with UN-Habitat, research institutes, and non-governmental organizations. Ambika is a key contributor to the UN’s analysis on urban development and climate change for Vietnam and she has contributed to policy reports which have been published by UN-Habitat, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Global Green Growth Fund, and the One Earth Future Foundation. She is also the project coordinator for the book “State of the World 2009: Into a Warming World,” published by the Worldwatch Institute. The book is an important reference guide on climate change and has been translated into 25 languages. She holds a master’s degree in environmental law from Sturm College of Law, the University of Denver. Ambika enjoys reading, hiking, cooking, and exploring new places. Siena Henson

Siena is a DC transplant, originally from the Pacific Northwest, who grew up picking salmonberries and huckleberries and learning about her native biome through Girl Scout Camp. Equally passionate about human behavior, she pursued her bachelor's in Sociology and Psychology, minoring in Environmental Ethics & Policy from the University of Portland, and went on to a Master's in Behavioral and Decision Sciences from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a fellow at the EPA contributing to qualitative social science research on disaster debris removal decision-making and community engagement to build hazard resilience. Siena also loves to run, crochet, hang with her cats (and friends), and loves connecting with new folks on Linkedin!
Charlotte Terry

Charlotte is originally from Arlington, VA. She got her Bachelor of Science at James Madison University in Geography with a minor in Environmental Studies and attended the East African Field School, spending two months in Kenya studying Swahili and Human Environment Interactions. After, she moved to Colorado, teaching environmental education for a local school district. Since then, she has led outdoor recreation programs in Hawaii, Wyoming, and California, taught field ecology courses in Yellowstone National Park, and led backpacking courses in Olympic and North Cascades national parks. Charlotte is back in the DMV looking for full time positions in community engagement. She is excited to have joined the communications committee to support and promote DC EcoWomen's mission of creating community spaces for women in the environmental field. Sara Thornton, a Raleigh, NC native, graduated from NC State University with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in Renewable Electric Energy Systems and a minor in Environmental Science. During her time at NC State, she served as a Research Assistant for the NC Clean Energy Technology Center where she led renewable energy feasibility studies and researched state renewable energy policies. Since graduating, she has moved to Washington DC to work as a Power Systems Engineer for Eaton Corporation to develop her technical and project management skills. Her long-term goal is to continue to seek opportunities to combine her passions of engineering and sustainability in creative ways. ​Bria L. Jamison is a water treatment engineer for cooling data centers at Amazon Web Services (AWS). Formerly, she was at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) supporting water and wastewater treatment technology research and development. Prior to the DOE, she worked in contaminated site remediation, specializing in emerging contaminants. She holds a B.S. in environmental engineering and an M.S. in green technologies engineering from the University of Southern California (USC).
Bria has pursued women-empowering work through organizations like the Society of Women Engineers and internal working groups. Hailing from central California's oil and farm country, she continues to search for equitable climate solutions that bridge the gap between communities across the U.S. In her free time, she loves to experience live music, keep physically active, and mix cocktails. Sarah grew up in Tampa, FL, and holds a bachelor’s in conservation biology from Auburn University and a master’s in global sustainability from the University of South Florida. She served as a research assistant studying avian biology in her time at school and later worked at the EPA researching sustainable waste management policies at local, state, and federal levels. Sarah currently works as a consultant in DC focused on increasing the development, purchase, and use of biobased products in the United States. In her free time, Sarah loves reading, drinking vanilla lattes, and spending time with her two kitties.

Andrea Ferri

Andrea is on the Strategic Finance and Investing teams at Blue Forest, a conservation finance nonprofit focused on accelerating forest restoration. In this role, she leads loan related activity and provides financial management to projects. Previously, she worked at The Conservation Fund managing the Conservation Loans program primarily lending to land trusts across the country to acquire conservation real estate. She holds an M.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from George Mason University and a B.A. in Environmental Studies at the University of Tennessee – Knoxville.

Liza Khmara

Liza is an interdisciplinary social scientist and policy analyst working to advance biodiversity conservation efforts that promote sustainable development. Her prior experience includes serving as a legislative fellow on issues such as public lands, science, and animal rights, and as a research analyst at a non-governmental organization conducting ecosystem service valuations and policy analyses. Currently, her work is focused on how nature-based solutions can address societal challenges. Liza holds a B.A. in Geography and Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Policy from the University of Miami, where she studied the economics and governance of protected areas. Gabriela Nahm

Gabriela is a passionate, curious, and empathetic individual who cares deeply about building stronger relationships with her communities, the planet, and local ecosystems. She is the Davidson Impact Fellow and a program coordinator at Salzburg Global, an international nonprofit based in Salzburg, Austria. As a Fellow, Gabriela assists with the logistics and execution of the Cutler Fellows Program, the International Law Fellows Network, and outreach and engagement strategies. She also supports development and fundraising in the US.
Her prior experience includes program coordination and management at an environmental education and advocacy organization in the Bay-Area and communications at a local raptor center. During her time in undergrad, she was heavily involved in environmental sustainability and climate justice initiatives on campus and in the local community. She graduated from Davidson in 2024 with Honors in environmental studies. Whenever she can, she enjoys reading, connecting with people in coffee shops, dancing, and walking through Rock Creek Park. Sydney Rodman is the founder of Green Revival, a company that is using invasive plant waste for applications in the bioeconomy. Sydney worked at the startups Vertical Field in Israel and Repair the Sea in Florida. Hollyn Walters

Hollyn is based out of Arlington, VA, originally from the New Hampshire seacoast. She grew up exploring the forests, lakes, mountains, and ocean surrounding her town. Through her BA in International Relations from the George Washington University and MSc In Environmental Science and Policy from King's College London, she continued to pursue her love of nature and adventure. Her previous roles include executing grassroots community development in Australia, drafting rigorous environmental policy with the USFS, conducting climate change impact research in the UK, and implementing financially driven nature-based solutions with Conservation International across Africa, the Asia Pacific, and Latin America. Adriana Bryant
Programs
Adriana is a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland at College Park. She is pursuing her degree in Civil Engineering and is working at the intersection of the built environment and climate. Her previous work has looked at the impact of federal disaster aid on socially vulnerable populations. Currently she works for the Center for Global Sustainability and conducts climate policy modeling at the U.S. national and sub-national levels. In her free time she enjoys reading at local coffee shops, going on runs, and taking care of her 40+ house plants! Natalie Roach is passionate about integrating environmental justice into planning & policy. She works as a Program Coordinator for Vision Zero in Prince George's County, which aims to eliminate traffic fatalities and make streets safer for everyone.She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Master of Public Policy, a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences & Human Rights (Minor in Sustainable Food Crop Production), and a graduate certificate in Emerging Women's Leadership. Nicole is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon with a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. She has spent 15+ years developing visual effects pipelines in the film and television industry, leading technical innovations behind the scenes. Now, she is transitioning into GHG accounting, leveraging her technical expertise to address climate change. In parallel, Nicole is passionate about using her background in storytelling to educate and inspire the public, enabling individuals to make impactful choices for a more sustainable future.
