2021 Photo Contest

In honor of Earth Day on April 22, we’re kicking off our annual photo contest and we want to hear from YOU! Do you want to showcase a visual story about women, the environment, and the D.C. community? If you have images that you’d like to share with the DC EcoWomen community and the world, enter the contest!

  • On Instagram: Direct message your photo to @DCEcoWomen, and include a description and your email address in your message.
  • By email: Send your photo and a description with the subject line “Photo Contest Submission” to [email protected]

The top three submissions will win prizes and will be featured in the newsletter, website, and DC EcoWomen blog.

Act Fast! The contest is only open from Tuesday, April 20 to Friday, May 25 (extended deadline) at 11:59 p.m. ET.

For more information on the contest theme, rules, submission details, and rules and guidelines, see below.

Why You Should Enter

Send an image and a description for your chance to win prizes and recognition within our member community and on the web. Prizes will include gift cards to local, environmental, women-inclusive businesses. The three winners will also get the chance to guest write a DC EcoWomen blog post that tells the story of their image. It’s a great way to connect with our community and share your perspective on your environment.

  • Women: Do you have photos of women working together on an environmental project? Did you speak on a panel with other women in the field? Did you organize a March that helps support women in our space? Show us how you are building relationships among women in the environmental field.
  • Environmental Issues: Did you help protect our natural resources? Participate in a March on climate change? Get your community involved in a solar project? Start a neighborhood garden? Lobby on the Hill for environmental justice? Show us how you are working on environmental issues.
  • D.C. Area: We’re lucky that our city is so full of opportunities. Did you contribute to a D.C.-based environmental program? Were you part of a  D.C. park clean-up? Show us how you’re contributing to the environmental movement in the area.
