Ongoing Programs
Here at DC EcoWomen, we are only as strong as our members’ involvement. In order to accommodate busy schedules and diverse interests, we offer an array of ongoing programs and special events geared toward bringing eco-minded women together to learn, discuss, network, and have fun. Join us!
Ongoing Programs
Book Club
Our book club meets once every two months to discuss a book with an environmental angle. Our discussions are cozy, chill, and open-ended. They are always open to new members, and there’s no obligation to come to every session. Learn more >>
Film Club
The film club explores environmental issues through the arts. Our core activity is a bi-monthly screening and discussion of an environment-themed film, usually at a member’s home. We also organize outings to environment-related arts events in the Washington, DC area.
We seek to provide DC EcoWomen members the opportunity to learn more about the environment and sustainability, to examine humanity’s cultural links to nature, and to meet and share ideas with like-minded women. Learn more >>
Eco-Outings
As women who are passionate about the environment and outdoors, we are working to create a community of people who spend time playing outside together. Past Eco-outings have included hiking, working on urban farms, visiting sustainable wineries, potlucking in parks, and more.
We are always looking for more ideas that will get us outside to learn, appreciate, or enjoy the nature just outside our doorsteps.
Eco-Moms
Being a mom is challenging enough, let alone being an eco-conscious one. The goal of this group is to discuss these challenges together and provide each other and (other mothers!) with information and tools so we can make healthy choices in our homes and communities that protect our children and the environment.
Look for an exciting event in the new year featuring Marin Rose from Funtional, Fashionable.
